The Tobago Cays
Imagine an intimate cluster of five uninhabited cays, heavenly lagoons full of green turtles, coral reefs, colourful fishes and crystal clear waters. An idyllic yachting anchorage, a dream for scuba divers, a paradise for beachcombers, and a film location for Pirates of the Caribbean, the Tobago Cays and the Tobago Cays Marine Park is one of the world’s most awe inspiring island destinations.
Set in a coral reef lagoon the Islands are protected by two horseshoe reefs, providing picturesque turquoise waters, fine coral reefs and beaches of powdery white sand . . . “the jewel in the crown”.
Four of the Cays – Petit Bateau, Petit Rameau, Jamesby and Baradal and enclosed within the inner, aptly named Horseshoe Reef, while the fifth – Petit Tabac, made famous by the movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, lies just to the east of the main group. Surrounding the islands is an outer reef, named World’s End Reef.
